For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.”
Habakkuk 2:3
I would love to assure everyone that if they would pray hard enough, and had enough faith, their prayers would be answered quickly. But as one preacher has said, God is not like an ATM machine where we punch in the right codes and get what we want, but rather we must watch and pray for what He wants. We are a small part of a very big picture and because of that fact, we must trust Him in all things and that He has everyone’s best interest in mind.
King David said it best in Psalm 31:14-15. “But as for me, I trust in Thee, O Lord, I say, Thou art my God.” My times are in Thy hand.” Like it or not, trusting is a relaxed posture, and to truly do it best we have to rest in Him, and give up the temptation of thinking that we must through strife and struggle force His will. It is ok to struggle against darkness, but we must be careful not to be tricked into striving against God because things haven’t happened the way we wanted.
One thing I have learned from waiting in lines in the super market, at sporting events, or in traffic; If I know I am going to have to wait anyway, why not figure out a way to enjoy it. I can either wait there and be mad, or I can be there and be happy. Happy or mad doesn’t make the line go faster, or the traffic pick up. In fact, I could be making my life shorter more than anything else.
As Paul said, “And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary.” Gal 6:9
So.relax and trust Him.
