Pastor’s Word for the Week

Satan seeks to make us look miserable in relation to God…

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31

As a parent and a grandparent I have my own little sparrows on my mind and feel great concern for them as I look upon what they will face in this world…

“When a person’s ways are pleasing to the LORD, He causes even his enemies to make peace with him.” Proverbs 16:7…

“When you pass through the deep waters, I will be with you. The rivers will not go over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned.” Isaiah 43:2

When we feel  vulnerable we can know that God is our strength and our wisdom…

“So I tell you, don’t worry about everyday life – whether you have enough food, drink, and clothes. Doesn’t life consist of more than food and clothing? Will all your worries add a single moment to your life?” (Matt. 6:25,27 LB)

Worrying is probably one of the most detrimental habits we can get into because it can decrease our effectiveness in so many other areas of life…

It amazes me that when Isaiah saw the Lord that the sin he was most aware of in his life had to do with his speech…
