The other night millions of children stood before doors and after knocking asked the question, “Trick or Treat?”
Little do we realize the depth of that little question because it has always been associated with children at Halloween.
But the truth is, that is the question deep in the thoughts of every adult as they look at the door of life. Will life end as an eternal trick or eternal treat?
The answer is simple. It depends on what type of person is behind the door.
But thanks be to God in Christ Jesus we can know who is behind the door, and what He has for us. In fact before the day comes when we stand before His door,
He has already visited ours.
He has stood there knocking, coming to us bearing treats of God’s love and eternal life if we would just let Him in.
He is the only one who goes door to door, heart to heart, bringing His treats to us.
He comes to us so we will have no fear in coming to Him.
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” Revelation 3:20 NLT
