President Theodore Roosevelt said: “When you educate a man in mind and not morals, you educate a menace to society.”
It is amazing what Science can do yet it is obvious that though it is learning to control everything it cannot control man. With all the years of research the problems of hate, lust, greed, selfishness and prejudice that produce every manner of crime, social injustice, racial strife, and even war are ever with us. With every new invention comes the way of using it to an evil or selfish end. History reveals that almost every civilization before us has disintegrated and collapsed from internal forces rather than military conquest. Knowledge that is not tethered to truth will inevitably move us toward destruction. One doesn’t have to look to something as large as a civilization to see this. We only have to look at ourselves as individuals to see the incredible damage that can be done by any one of us who would choose to live without a moral compass. In our lost state we can trample all over the lives of others unless we allow Jesus to be “the way the truth and the life for us.”
